Proverbs 13:20 (KJV) – “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” – How do you walk with wise men? Well many wise men will not have time to talk to the average person and even more wise men have already died. However, I can essentially walk with the wise when I read their words. Through books I can read the words of great men. I can in effect walk with King Solomon when I read his words in the Proverbs. Walk with the wise and you will be wise. Rehoboam is a Bible example of this (1 Kings 12:1-20) in that he rejected the wise counsel of the old men and followed the foolish counsel of his peers.
